New Innovations Need New Workforce Skills

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it very clear that for California's economy to expand, stable, reliable and cost effective fuels are needed. With that, the Governor and the California legislature have put forth numerous new policies and regulations to increase the use of alternative fuels and renewable energy, while reducing demand for conventional fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

But these policies don't add up to just environmental benefits. A recent study conducted by University of California at Berkeley determined that renewable energy is not only good for our economic security and the environment, it also creates new jobs! The study concludes that renewable energy could create 240,000 new jobs by 2020, versus no more than 75,000 new jobs if the country sticks to fossil fuels.
